Oro the Forest Giant
Starring the beloved forest giant from Hidden Creek Park West in Hillsboro, Oregon - Oro the Forest Giant tells a heartfelt tale of friendship, inclusion, bravery, and the joys of playing outside with friends old and new.
The magic of this story is yours to discover! Oro the Forest Giant is inspired by a real-life friend waiting for you at Hidden Creek Park West in Hillsboro, Oregon. This whimsical play space was brought to life by playground design-builder Earthscape, working under the direction of Landscape Architects at MIG for the City of Hillsboro.
Oro was thoughtfully designed resting on his belly to create a large, cavernous, accessible space where children of all abilities can play side-by-side. The name Oro was the winning name suggestion from a local child, and every explorer is warmly welcomed into the giant’s world. We invite you to visit Oro in person, explore the hidden spaces beneath the giant’s heart, and make new friends in a place where imagination knows no bounds!

““Being able to write and tell Oro’s story has been an absolute honor. My goal was to create a deeper, more personal connection between Oro and the Hillsboro community and I am incredibly proud of what Alyssa and I accomplished with this book.” ”
